Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be released tomorrow on Friday, April 28. The game is a port of the 2014 release for the Wii U. In addition to the Switch’s portability, the new version contains a long list of new features and additions. Some examples are:
- DLC updates
- Five Deluxe-only characters and a sixth unlockable character
- Three Deluxe-only vehicles
- New costumes for Mii racers via Amiibos
- A new battle mode
- Two new items
- The ability to carry two items at once
- Improved visuals
Some of these new additions may encourage owners of the original Wii U game to purchase the new Switch version at launch. In fact, the portability of the Switch console alone may be enough of a reason to make the purchase.
