DC FANDOME STARTS TODAY! August 22, 2020 – Here’s What to Expect!

DC FanDome is a first-of-its-kind, immersive global fan experience in nine languages featuring exclusive reveals with our biggest stars across the DC Multiverse—free for all fans to join for 24-hours only on August 22nd. (That’s today!) No lines, no badges—you won’t want to miss it!

We’ve all imagined we were a superhero at some point, but which one best represents you? Are you a force for good…or do you live life a bit on the bad side? Starting today, you can unlock your DC alter ego—and get yourself pumped up for DC FanDome while you’re at it—with the new DC Alter Ego lens on Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat.

What is the best way to access DC FanDome?  

DC FanDome can be accessed on a desktop, tablet or mobile device at www.DCFanDome.com.    

Is DC FanDome available on mobile?

Yes, all video content in DC FanDome is available on mobile.  

What are the best browsers to use?

Google Chrome 56 and above.  Firefox 51 and above.  Unless you’re in S.T.A.R. Labs, of course.    

Do I have to download an app or other software in order to participate?

No.  Everything takes place in your browser.  Recommended browsers are Google Chrome 56 and above and Firefox 51 and above.    

What time does DC FanDome begin and end?

DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes will begin at 10am PT (UTC-7) on August 22 and end at 10am PT on August 23. DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse will begin at 10am PT (UTC-7) on September 12 and end at 10am PT on September 13. You can see your local time zones on the schedule page at https://schedule.DCFanDome.com.   

Is content from DC FanDome allowed to be streamed onto other platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, etc)?

While we encourage our fans to react LIVE for your streaming audiences during DC FanDome, we ask that no content be placed on your channels outside of that content which DC or Warner Bros. places on their own social channels following the event’s conclusion at 10am PT on Sunday 8/23.  Unauthorized content will be removed following the event’s conclusion (10am PT on Sunday 8/2).   

What if I miss it?  Will the event be available at a later time to view?

Just like a live event, the full DC FanDome experience will be available for 24 hours only.  If you don’t watch it during the 24 hours, you will miss it (unless you have access to time travel). For those in different time zones around the world, Hall of Heroes programming will run 3 times consecutively (it’s an 8-hour program); other programming will be available only once in the 24-hour timeline. Check the schedule for details and ability to create your own custom schedule.    

What is the cost?

FREE. Access to the event is entirely free.   

So, there will be opportunities to purchase DC merchandise?

Yes, there will be exclusive DC merchandise available to buy in the DC Store on the FunVerse island from a range of different partners around the globe.  Some items will only be available during the 24 hours of the event, while others will be available for purchase beyond the end of the event. It’s possible that some of the merchandise will have geo-fencing due to local licensing agreements.      

Will DC FanDome be available on my favorite social media or video platform as a livestream?

While people may be streaming their journey on social platforms, we highly encourage you to join us  in the experience by visiting www.DCFanDome.com on August 22 and September 12.   

Is this event only for the United States?

No.  DC FanDome is truly a global event – and fans from all across the world are encouraged and welcome to attend!  There will be continuous programming scheduled throughout the 24 hours.    

Will the event only be in English?  Or accessible in other languages?

We will support multiple languages in DC FanDome. Videos will be sub-titled into into 9 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish and Traditional Chinese.   

Will the event be geo-filtered?

No.  This is a global event.  While all the content, video and games are open to all legal adults in all markets.      

Will there be a limit to the number of participants in DC FanDome?

No.  There is no “room capacity.”  Just as there are no limits in the DC Multiverse, there are no limits in the DC FanDome.    

Do I need to create an avatar for DC FanDome?

No.  There is no need to create any avatars for the DC FanDome experience though we do encourage you to Cosplay or put on your DC best and share your look on Twitter using #DCFanDome so we can feature you in the experience!    

Is this an interactive event?

There is a limited amount of interactivity – participants can tweet reactions to DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes using #DCFanDome and coming in DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse you can vote on their favorite Fan Art as well as Cosplay and Fandom finalists.   

Does DC FanDome incorporate AR/VR?

You don’t need a VR headset to take part or view events. There will be some optional AR experiences coming in DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse which can be experienced on mobile devices.     

Do I need to log in, register or provide my email to participate?

While you don’t need to register to log-in to access the event at DCFanDome.com the day of, we recommend you pre-register for the event, including your email address, so that you have the ability to access the event schedule first and to be able to customize your personal schedule at https://schedule.dcfandome.com/.    

Will this event be “kid-friendly?”

The DC KidsVerse at http://www.DCKidsFanDome.com launching as part of DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse will be a separate area for children.  If your younger DC fans want to participate in kid-friendly videos and talent-narrated stories, they can safely interact in this environment.      

Is there any explicit or violent content?

On the whole, the content will not have explicit sex, drugs, excessive violence, etc..  For example, cosplay events will be rated PG, etc. Where content might not be appropriate for some viewers, an explicit disclosure will be made prior to screening that material.    

What is the scope of the event in terms of content?

Launching on August 22, DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes is an epic 8-Hour event livestreamed at www.DCFanDome.com which over the course of 24 hours will repeat 3 times for our fans around the world. DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse launches for 24-hours on September 12 and is designed to be a personal journey of discovery.  There are panels, sessions, behind the scenes, making of, original content, premiere movie, fan submissions and masterclasses that will include talent from across DC television, film, publishing and games that encompass live action and animation. Warner Bros. Is this event strictly “DC Only” or will I be able to find other Warner Bros. related properties?

DC FanDome will be DC only, but we will have panels, content debuts and news from all DC related divisions including television, film, publishing, games, animation and more!     

Is there a schedule of events?

Of course you can customize your day of event schedule at http://schedule.DCFanDome.com.  Get a good night sleep the night before because there is so much to see, you can’t possibly see it all within 24 hours!     

Bonus Question: If I get trapped in the DC FanDome after the 24 hours is up, what should I do?

Stranger things have happened in the DC Multiverse.  You might want to come up with a cool name and work on your super-suit until your triumphant return to Earth!
