Diablo Anniversary Event is Finally Here!

The Diablo anniversary event has finally started with the release of patch 2.4.3! Players can now jump into the Adventure Mode in Diablo III to explore the cathedral in Old Tristram as it would have been seen back in 1996. The cathedral has 16 floors and each floor is home to the demons that fans of the original game had known to come and love.

To begin your adventure for the anniversary event, you’ll need to set up or join an Adventure Mode game. Next, you’ll want to head to a waypoint called The Old Ruins. After running south, you will eventually end up in Old Tristram where a portal will take you to a pixelated version of Tristram. Your next task is to locate the cathedral and descend down until you reach Diablo and slay him.

There are two pets which are rewarded to players who go through all 16 levels and defeat Diablo using a new character starting at level 1. The first pet is the Royal Calf and the other is a miniature version of the Butcher himself.  The Butcher pet will require a solo run through the cathedral, while the calf is a bit more involved. We won’t spoil the puzzle for you, but just to nudge you in the right direction you’ll need the Black Mushroom item which will drop from a mob. If you get stuck, there are some great guides online that can help walk you through the puzzles.

The pets are not the only goodies. There are new banners, armours, weapons, and awesome transmog unlocks to earn. There are some new portrait frames to unlock as well, including the Classic Angel portrait for people who can find all 7 of the Cultist’s Page items. There are also a few quality of life improvements, such as bug fixes and a change to the dye system. The patch notes for 2.4.3 can be found right here for a more detailed look at everything the patch has brought to the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions.

You’ll need to make sure you take part in the event before the end of the month because the event is only available in January!
