TRAILER: DOCTOR WHO Embarks on San Diego Comic-Con

Fresh from her dramatic unveiling during last year’s Christmas extravaganza, 13th Doctor Jodie Whittaker and company made their Hall H debut to rapturous applause.

The manner in which BBC America had marketed the titular Time Lord’s newest season has been nothing short of fantastic. With a steady stream of images, clips, and interviews beginning to appear across social media, anticipation for Chris Chibnall‘s (Broadchurch) latest interpretation of this Universally adored series.

From the beginning, Whittaker’s presence was instantly felt. With a stunning tongue-in-cheek introduction showing her journey from Cardiff to San Diego, the actress stepped out on stage to a thunderous reception. Joining her, companions Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill, showrunner Chibnall and Executive Producer Matt Strevens began to wax lyrical about the journey the cast and crew went through to achieve the best possible season they can, stating Whittakerwalked into the room and she was The Doctor. She just nailed it” as well stating the character is “a pillar of hope, striving for brightness and inclusion,

When asked to describe The Doctor in 3 words, the panel gave the following answers:

Cole: young, bubbly, and funny
Gill: humorous, witty, and energetic
Chibnall: really flipping awesome
Strevens: evervescent and energetic

After a series of questions, the team unveiled the first official footage to the fortunate few in attendance. Showcasing 13’s quick wit, sharp execution, and staggering scenery, the 40-second snippet is everything a fan of the show could ever need to whet their appetite.

Offering a taste of what’s in store for viewers this fall, the trailer sees the Doctor and her new friends, Ryan Sinclair (Cole), Yasmin Khan (Gill) and Graham O’Brien (Bradley Walsh), traveling through space and time.
