SDCC Returning Registration: Saturday, March 11th

And thousands of geeks screamed all at once when San Diego Comic-Con tweeted the date of Returning Registration:

In order to be eligible for Returning Registration, you must have attended San Diego Comic-Con 2016 as a general attendee. Other special groups (Creative/Trade Professionals, Press, and Volunteers) will have their registration scheduled for a later date.

The new RFID badge system that CCI implemented last year will validate if you were a past attendee. At 8 AM PST, you’ll be able to log into the EXPO Logic Registration Waiting Room, and enter your Registration Code via the EXPO Logic Waiting Room link, (you can find both on the “Registration Info” tab after logging into your Member ID on March 10) your Member ID, last name, and credit/debit card information. Your unique registration code, the Expo Logic waiting room link, and instructions on how to participate will be available in your Comic-Con Member ID account at least 24 hours prior to the sale.

Beginning shortly after 9 AM PST, the waiting room will randomly sort you to purchase badges.

During the online sale, attendees will be able to purchase up to three badges – including one for themselves (You will need the Last Name and Member ID of the person(s) you will be purchasing for, and each person must also be eligible for Returning Registration on their own).

Just like with last year, CCI will be utilizing both RFID technology in badges, as well as physically mailing them to U.S. residents. The  Souvenir Book, Events Guide, bag, and lanyard will be picked up on site. International attendees and child registration (Under the age of 12) will also pick up their badges onsite. Comic-Con International will ship badges out to domestic attendees individually. For example, you buy badges for Tom, Dick, and Harry…CCI will mail Tom, Dick, and Harry their individual badges.

So, make sure you’ve updated your address in your Member ID!

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that those who are eligible to participate will get a badge purchase session. The demand out weighs the actual number of badges that will be available for purchase. This is where forming buddy groups can greater your odds of purchasing a badge.

Are you attending solo and do not have anyone to buddy up with? Start socializing with an online SDCC group. Check out the Friends of CCI forum and SD COMICCON: Badge Holders Facebook Group for buying group information and tips.

A 4-Day badge has increased by $20 compared to the 2016 season which was $245. The price for a 4-Day will be $265.

During Open Registration, the badge sale will be open to everyone! That includes first-time attendees. CCI will Tweet when that take place at a later date. If you haven’t, be sure to sign up for a Member ID and make sure you’re opted in to receive e-mails so you don’t miss a thing!
