Certainly, a headline like that will turn some heads, and it’s meant to, don’t get me wrong. However, it’s also meant to illustrate a point. Our TeePublic shop will transport you back to your childhood. As children of the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, we didn’t play with one certain type of doll, car, action figure, video game, or playset. We usually received toys from a variety of different influences, and genres. Toys of all sizes, colors, and categories came together in unison within the framework of our own little “universe”. We happily worked with what we had, and our creativity was better for it!
Childhood afternoons were spent pitting our Mego Superman action figure against the Boba Fett we got for Christmas. Aquaman, Spider-Man, and Luke Skywalker looking on, ready to jump into the fray at a moment’s notice. We raced K.I.T.T. against the A-Team’s van, and used the neighborhood dirt pile to jump Evel Knievel to the moon and back! There were no bounds to our imagination!
We put The Lone Ranger up against the likes of The Lizard, Maskatron, or a Mego Klingon like it was nothing, and, of course, The Lone Ranger always came out on top! We spent our Sunday evenings watching Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, followed by The Magical World of Disney before heading to bed in our footy pajamas to dream about flying monkeys from The Wizard of Oz doing battle with Voltron and He-Man. Come to think of it, there was a lot of battling and racing going on in our childhoods.
These are the halcyon days that we look back on so fondly. The best times of our childhood, when imagination reigned supreme. That is the idyllic feeling you get when you wander through the Second Union TeePublic Shop. Memories flood in with the fervor of a Black Friday sale as you explore the t-shirts, hoodies, and other paraphernalia adorned with some of your favorite pop culture imagery. TV shows, movies, Saturday morning cartoons, anime, and Monster movies, are all well represented. And there is so much more!
