Marvel and Netflix just released the very first full length trailer for their upcoming limited series ‘The Defenders’. If you’re a fan of Marvel’s efforts on the streaming media service, this definitely doesn’t seem to disappoint. Everything has been leading up to this, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage coming together, teaming up to save New York City from the Hand, and a brand new enemy in the form of Alexandra, played by Sigourney Weaver.
The Defenders is an upcoming American web television miniseries developed for Netflix by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise and is the culmination of a series of interconnected shows from Marvel and Netflix. The miniseries is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios, with Ramirez serving as showrunner.
Official Synopsis: Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.
The Netflix original series will launch globally on August 18, 2017.
