Attendees at Disney’s D23 Expo last weekend were privvy to an exclusive “special look” teaser trailer debut. Now that the convention has ended, we get to see it as well.

The trailer opens with a montage of scenes derived from the original trilogy of films and then leads into the prequel trilogy. Integral scenes reminding us of what has come before, slowly building up to the last few seconds of footage from the new film, eerily narrated by Emperor Palpatine. We’re not giving anything away. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
