DC’s executive Geoff Johns recently confirmed that Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike) will star as the unforgivingly badass killing machine ‘Deathstroke’ in Ben Affleck’s stand-alone Batman movie. Affleck revealed that Deathstroke would be making an on screen appearance after releasing a short teaser video from a production monitor. Needless to say… comic book fans lost their minds in excitement.

Deathstroke, also know as Slade Wilson,  first made his appearance in the second issue of the New Teen Titans comic series and slowly became one of the greatest comic book villains ever. The death dealing assassin then went on to make a television appearance (portrayed by Manu Bennett) on The CW’s Arrow (right).

This is a beloved  character that has clearly grown out of the comic book pages and into the “real” world. The showdown between Deathstroke and Batman is bound to be EPIC, and I cant wait, but can Joe Manganiello shed his sexy hunk-like skin and leap into the death-dealing action role of a lifetime?

I guess we will just have to wait to find out.
