In what will probably be considered one of the most creative promotional tie-ins released this year, Netflix has recently launched a retro-inspired mobile game to precede the release of the second season of their critically acclaimed series Stranger Things. Teaming up with game developer BonusXP, Netflix brings a little 80’s nostalgia to life in the form of some eerie period familiar graphics. In the game, you assume the role of Chief Jim Hopper, moving through Hawkins, Indiana, investigating reports of four missing children. As the Chief and four playable kids, you can solve puzzles and collect Eggo waffles. You can also compete with your friends’ high scores on speed runs which adds a social element to the game.

Stranger Things Season 2 debuts on Netflix on October 27, 2017.
