Blizzard Entertainment recently posted an Overwatch character interview with 11-year-old inventor Efi Oladele from Numbani. She recently became a recipient of the Adawe Foundation’s prestigious “genius grant” for her accomplishments in robotics and artificial intelligence. Efi began her hobby in robotics by putting together little drones and it expanded from there. During the interview, the reporter asked Efi what she plans on doing with her new grant. Her final answer was, “It’s a secret for now… but my parents are taking me on a trip to celebrate! It’ll be my first time flying, so I can’t wait.”
Characters such as Soldier: 76 and Mei were revealed through little hints such as this one, so could Efi be the next Overwatch hero? Some think that she’s a bit too young for fighting at 11 years old, so she might be responsible for a new robot character instead. Efi hints towards something along those lines by saying, “I want to create things that make our lives better. And someday, my dream is to build something that can keep us safe, like the new OR15s! I think that would be great.” Either way, a new hero is always fun and makes the game more interesting as players attempt to find creative ways to use new hero abilities.
