As Thanos sets his sights on destroying the Marvel Universe in one of the biggest movie blockbusters of all time, ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ the man who created the Mad Titan will be making a rare in-person appearance in the Buffalo area, courtesy of Sleeping Giant.
Legendary writer-artist Jim Starlin, the creator of Thanos, the Infinity Gauntlet, Drax, Gamora and many more, will be signing at the Sleeping Giant headquarters in Tonawanda on Saturday, May 5, known nationwide as Free Comic Book Day. Come meet the man who created the ultimate Marvel villain, Thanos, and get your comics and collectibles signed during Jim Starlin’s first-ever Buffalo appearance.
“I’m ecstatic we’re able to bring Jim Starlin to Buffalo for a signing just as ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is breaking box-office records. So much of the Marvel Cinematic Universe wouldn’t exist without Jim, and we’re proud to have him working with Sleeping Giant for this historic event,” said Sean HusVar of Sleeping Giant and Ominous Press. “We expect this to be the start of a long and fruitful relationship between Jim Starlin, Sleeping Giant, and our publishing arm, Ominous Press.”
The signing will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, and an autograph fee of $10 per item, and $20 per CGC item will apply. CGC witnessing for graded comics will be available on site, and a variety of Starlin-signed items will be available for purchase. Jim Starlin will not be available for commissions.
