BBC AMERICA’s Doctor Who debuted a new look yesterday, as Thirteenth Doctor Jodie Whittaker revealed the series’ new logo at BBC Worldwide’s annual showcase event in Liverpool.
An iconic trademark for the franchise, the Doctor Who logo is a consistent and powerful insignia that is recognized all around the world, and the updated version marks a new era for the series. The first season starring Jodie Whittaker premieres Fall 2018 on BBC AMERICA.
BBC Worldwide commissioned creative agency Little Hawk to create the brand-new logo, working closely with showrunner Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens.
The logo launched with a 10-second animation which features the TARDIS blazing a trail through the logo.
The sound for the animated logo was created by Matthew Herbert.
Don’t worry, Whovians — all official Doctor Who merchandise featuring the new logo will be available at selected retailers from February 20th, 2018.
