Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan Return in Disney’s Freakier Friday Teaser

Mark your calendars—Disney’s body-swap comedy is back and bigger than ever. The studio has just released the official teaser trailer for Freakier Friday, the long-anticipated sequel to the 2003 fan favorite Freaky Friday, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.

Reuniting onscreen after more than two decades, Curtis and Lohan reprise their roles as mother and daughter Tess and Anna Coleman. But this time, the generational swap doesn’t stop with just the two of them. In Freakier Friday, a new twist in fate scrambles not just Tess and Anna, but also Anna’s daughter and her soon-to-be stepdaughter, launching a multi-generational body swap that promises double (or maybe quadruple) the mayhem.

Directed by Nisha Ganatra, the film explores how each character copes with life in someone else’s shoes—literally—and features a strong supporting cast including Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Vanessa Bayer, Manny Jacinto, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. The teaser hints at a fast-paced comedy packed with physical humor, heartfelt moments, and clever call-backs to the original film.

With both Curtis and Lohan onboard as producers, Freakier Friday promises a faithful, fun, and emotionally resonant return to the world that delighted a generation. The film is set to premiere in theaters on August 8, 2025.
