Kendrick Lamar, one of music entertainment’s biggest stars teamed up with Anthony Tiffith (CEO of Top Dawg Entertainment) to create the musical background to the long-awaited superhero movie starring Chadwick Boseman.
In a press release, Lamar said, “Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther’ is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside (director) Ryan (Cooler) and Marvel’s vision.”
The album includes music featured in and inspired by “Black Panther,” which stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, and Danai Gurira. The film follows King T’Challa aka Black Panther following the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’ as he returns home to Wakanda. The album is available now, one week before the film hits theaters on February 16th.
The first single from the movie called “All the Stars”, a collaboration of both Kendrick Lamar and Sza was released last Thursday. View the music video above and listen to the album here:
