The killer doll sensation is back and more terrifying than ever. Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have unveiled the first teaser trailer for M3GAN 2.0, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 horror hit. Set to premiere in theaters on June 27, 2025, the film promises a thrilling showdown between advanced AI entities.
Directed by Gerard Johnstone, M3GAN 2.0 picks up two years after the original’s events. Gemma (Allison Williams) has become an advocate for AI regulation. However, when a defense contractor misuses M3GAN’s technology to create a rogue military-grade robot named Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), Gemma is forced to resurrect and upgrade M3GAN to combat this new threat.
“Miss me?”
The teaser showcases M3GAN’s signature dance moves, now set to Chappell Roan’s “Femininomenon,” and hints at high-octane action sequences, including M3GAN flying through canyons. Returning cast members include Violet McGraw as Cady, now a rebellious teenager, and Amie Donald and Jenna Davis reprising their roles as M3GAN’s physical and voice performers, respectively.
With its blend of horror, sci-fi, and dark humor, M3GAN 2.0 aims to surpass its predecessor by exploring themes of AI ethics and the consequences of technological advancement. Fans can expect a thrilling cinematic experience that delves deeper into the M3GAN universe.
