“Outlaw Posse” is a cinematic masterpiece, with Mario Van Peebles taking the helm as both writer and director, showcasing his expertise in crafting compelling narratives.
“Outlaw Posse” pays homage to the 1993 “Posse” movie in which Van Peebles co-starred with his father, Melvin Van Peebles. The film is produced by Kip Konwiser and Joshua Russell. The cast is rounded out by an impressive lineup, including William Mapother, John Carroll Lynch, D.C. Young Fly, Jake Manly, Mandela Van Peebles, Amber Reign Smith, and Neal McDonough. This diverse and talented ensemble promises to bring the characters to life, adding depth and authenticity to the Wild West tale. “Outlaw Posse” is set in the year 1908, a tumultuous time in the Wild West where corruption and greed rule. The story revolves around Chief, played by Mario Van Peebles, a renegade cowboy determined to restore balance to an unfair world. Chief assembles a daring group of outcasts for a cross-country odyssey to reclaim stolen gold in a territory filled with danger and betrayal.
Pursued by the vengeful lawman Angel, portrayed by William Mapother, the posse finds themselves in a deadly game of survival and redemption. Gunfights, showdowns, and horse chases set the stage for an epic tale of justice, honor, and the pursuit of hidden treasure. “Outlaw Posse” explores themes of survival as the only justice in a world where men in power exploit the vulnerable.
“No doubt the making of OUTLAW POSSE has been a labor of love! We had a blast making a badass Western that reflects how really wild and diverse the West was. The film features Whoopi Goldberg, who plays the historical character stagecoach Mary, Edward James Olmos, DC Young Fly, Cedric The Entertainer, Neal McDonough, and many more,” Mario Van Peebles states. He affectionately continues “In the feature the rough posse of outlaws go after the gold but they also stand up in defiance against unfair regulations, declaring that when laws are unjust, they just become outlaws! It’s been over 30 years since we released our classic ‘Posse,’ starring my father Melvin and I, and I can’t wait for fans to now meet the new Outlaws. We may not always watch the same news these days or share the same facts, but hopefully we can all still enjoy a raucous ride through the wild wild West together; and who knows, maybe we’ll come out the other side a little less divided.”
Prepare for a cinematic adventure like never before with “Outlaw Posse, this March.”
