Featuring Super Smash Bros Ultimate Tourney, 12-person Mario Kart 8 Deluxe free-for-all race, 100+ free play PC area, more
ATLANTA, GA — May 18, 2023 — MomoCon 2023, the largest celebration of gaming and anime in the Southeast United States returning to the Georgia World Congress Center from Thursday, May 25 to Sunday, May 28, today finalizes the official list of Esports and tabletop tournaments/activities guests can compete in today.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate takes center stage with both Single and Double brackets thanks to the tournament sponsor, Krystal. As weekend bouts break out, the Top 8 finals will culminate in the Krystal Main Stage starting on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 11:30 am CST.
Other notable headline tournaments include a 12-person free-for-all Mario Kart 8 Deluxe race, and bouts in Guilty Gear Strive, DragonBall FighterZ, Tekken 7, Rivals of Aether, and even Mario Party Superstars. Those unable to attend can catch much of the action on Twitch via the channels VGBootCamp, VGBootCamp2, and UGLnow.
Attendees unable to bring their own PC rigs to the show for casual matches can take advantage of this year’s PC Free Play Area, equipped with 150 preloaded computers full of games thanks to CLX Gaming. Full-time streamers can share the excitement from the show floor live as well by booking time with one of six dedicated streamers booths.
Play-to-Win board game events also await tenacious tabletop contestants where players can walk away with a copy of the board games upon victory including fan-favorite trading card titles like Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon TCG, and the Digimon Card Game. Prize bonuses increase with the number of entrants — up to $10,000 could be added if more than 512 Yu-Gi-Oh! duelists join the bracket.
Specific details like starting times, prize money bonuses, and entry fees for each tournament can be found via the official MomoCon 2023 Start.gg page.
