Momocon 2025 Recap: Celebrating 20 Years of Cosplay, Culture, and Community

The Georgia World Congress Center transformed into a colorful celebration of pop culture as MomoCon 2025 took over downtown Atlanta from May 22–25, welcoming tens of thousands of fans from around the world. This year marked a major milestone—MomoCon’s 20th anniversary—and the celebration was bigger, bolder, and nerdier than ever.

Whether you came for the anime, the cosplay, the games, or the chance to meet your favorite voice actor, MomoCon once again delivered a four-day experience packed with passion, creativity, and pure fandom joy.

Cosplay Galore

Cosplayers turned out in full force, strutting through the convention halls in intricate handmade creations, mashups, and screen-accurate perfection. From elaborate armor builds to kawaii ensembles straight out of your favorite anime, the creativity was unmatched. The MomoCon Cosplay Contest drew a massive crowd, showcasing some of the best costuming talent on the East Coast.

Gaming Heaven

Gaming took center stage across every corner of MomoCon—console setups, retro arcades, VR demos, indie dev showcases, and massive fighting game tournaments kept attendees glued to their controllers. The Tabletop area stayed packed all weekend long, with drop-in RPGs, D&D campaigns, and competitive card battles keeping the dice rolling.

Panels, Guests, and Fan Moments

MomoCon’s 2025 guest list didn’t disappoint. Celebrity voice actors, writers, animators, and industry legends hosted panels that filled rooms with laughter, insight, and a few surprise announcements. Fans got the chance to meet stars from across anime, gaming, and animation in intimate Q&A sessions and autograph signings.

One of the weekend’s most unforgettable panels brought together the English and Japanese voice casts of a beloved shonen series, sparking emotional moments and thunderous applause.

Merch Madness & Artist Alley Magic

The exhibitor hall and Artist Alley were fan-favorite destinations, filled with merch, prints, plushies, figures, and collectibles. From limited edition items to one-of-a-kind fan art, attendees made sure to leave with full hearts and empty wallets.

Tired, Happy, and Already Planning Next Year

By Sunday evening, attendees were visibly exhausted, yet grinning ear to ear. With sore feet, overstuffed backpacks, and thousands of new memories, the fandom community once again proved that MomoCon is more than just a convention—it’s a homecoming for creatives, cosplayers, gamers, and geeks of every kind.
