Launching precisely one year ago to critical acclaim, Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that yes, Red Dead Redemption 2 and its preceding Red Dead Online will finally make its way to PC. Available for pre-order from a variety of digital marketplaces, most notably Rockstar’s own proprietary game launcher and the Epic Games Store, the game’s highly anticipated PC port will land on November 5th. In a press release, Rockstar also confirmed that the port will come bundled with a handful of exclusive enhancements. While these enhancements may mostly stem from the graphical department, there are still enticing points of interest. For one, there is a modest amount of single-player content, from new bounty missions to an arsenal of unique weapons. Some of these weapons however already appeared in the online component of Red Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Online, which will also make its way to PC with the port.

Speaking of Red Dead Online, it’s a welcome addition to the already stellar package. While it hasn’t quite reached the insane popularity of Rockstar’s other online experience Grand Theft Auto Online, there’s certainly a player base for the sprawling Western multiplayer world, one that is bursting with missions, activities, exploration…and micro-transactions. But either way, PC players drawn to experience Rockstar’s award-winning cowboy epic are sure to be impressed by one key feature. The graphical presentation.

Red Dead Redemption 2 already made tidal waves in 2018 for its gorgeous landscapes and dense environments with the best foliage out of any video game ever released. Even on consoles, the game quickly rose to the top as one of the most, if not the most impressive video games of all time by just its sheer presentation. On PC? The possibilities for many players are running wild with their imagination. However, it might be a worthy cause to compose the excitement. Yes, the game will certainly look excellent with the screenshots available being the most valid evidence. On the other hand, though, Rockstar doesn’t seem to be reinventing the wheel, selling the enhancements mostly on the new uncapped frame rate. This is most likely a result of Red Dead Redemption 2 being such a technical tour de force, but it is a worthy note to players who may have expected the PC port to have the appearance of a completely new game.

The PC port of Red Dead Redemption 2 is sure to be one of the best-selling PC games of the entire year, just like the original console version of the title was last year. The legion of gamers on the PC front now have the opportunity to experience Rockstar’s brilliant masterpiece of cowboys, western lore, and a world that responds to your every move. Awarded over 175 Game of the Year trophies and over 250 perfect scores from press outlets, Red Dead Redemption 2 will surely find new life on the platform, bolstering its reputation when it hits digital marketplaces only on November 5th, 2019.
