The Ghostface legacy lives on. Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for Scream 7, directed by franchise creator Kevin Williamson and co-written with Guy Busick. The film is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026, marking the long-awaited return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott.
After sitting out Scream VI, Campbell’s return is a major highlight for longtime fans. Courteney Cox also reprises her role as Gale Weathers, and newcomer Isabel May joins the cast as Sidney’s daughter. Filming began in January 2025 in Atlanta, following months of creative reshuffling that saw Williamson step in to direct after Christopher Landon’s departure.
The trailer teases a darker tone and several nods to the 1996 original. One moment, in particular, has fans buzzing about a familiar voice that might hint at the return of a past Ghostface.
With the franchise entering its third decade, Scream 7 promises a blend of nostalgia and reinvention. For horror fans, it is shaping up to be one of 2026’s most anticipated releases.
