After nearly a decade, Ben Affleck reprises his role as Christian Wolff in the newly released trailer for The Accountant 2, offering fans a glimpse into the sequel’s intense action and complex family dynamics.
Directed by Gavin O’Connor, who helmed the original 2016 film, the sequel sees Christian teaming up with his estranged brother Brax, portrayed by Jon Bernthal. The duo embarks on a mission to unravel a deadly conspiracy following the murder of a high-ranking Treasury Department official. Cynthia Addai-Robinson also returns as agent Marybeth Medina, joining forces with the Wolff brothers in their quest for justice.
Notably absent from The Accountant 2 is Anna Kendrick, who played Dana Cummings in the original film. The sequel shifts its focus to the relationship between Christian and Brax, setting the stage for a more action-driven and emotional story. However, fans can hold out hope for Kendrick’s possible return in future installments.
The Accountant 2 officially opened in theaters on April 25, 2025, and is now playing nationwide.
