The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will have one of the biggest game worlds that Nintendo has ever made. Nintendo wants players to be able to enjoy the expansive game long after it is released, so they have planned an Expansion Pass both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U versions of the game. The pass will be available for purchase when the game launches March 3 and it will provide access to two new sets of downloadable content as they are released throughout the year.

The first content pack will come out with a Cave of Trials challenge, a new difficulty mode, and a new feature for the game map sometime in the summer. The second pack will feature even more challenges and a new original story during the holiday of 2017. Zelda fans do not have to wait until the summer or the winter holidays to fully enjoy the new pass, however. Three treasure chests will appear at the Great Plateau upon purchase of the pass and they will contain a Nintendo Switch shirt for Link along with some very useful items.
