The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) based in the United Kindom recently confirmed it has received an abundance of complaints regarding No Man’s Sky and that an investigation has been launched. The ASA may not be releasing further details, but the disappointed players have been voicing their complaints all over the web. These complaints include creature sizes that do not reflect the different sizes present in trailers, advertised combat types which remain unseen, and unobtainable graphics which were present in trailers but absent in-game.
It remains to be seen whether or not the game’s developers actually lied or if this is yet another case of over-hyped marketing. It’s possible that Hello Games lied to its fans, but it’s also possible that fans simply became blind to glaring issues as they became more excited to finally play it for themselves. We’ll have to wait to see what the ASA reveals in order to know what really happened.
