Book Lover’s Guide to New York Comic Con 2019: All Signings, Panels, and Giveaways

New York Comic Con is days away and booths and publishing companies have finally announced everything and everyone they’ll be bringing to the convention! Since so many publishers are located in New York, NYCC is a great convention for meeting authors, finding new series and getting some really cool giveaways. I always leave this con with my suitcase significantly weighed down with new reads (so make sure to leave room).

If you’re a book lover, this guide has everything you need to know about all of the panels, signings, and giveaways going on all weekend long:

Penguin Random House Booth #2205

Penguin Random House always has a huge booth that represents all of their publishing brands from Del Rey Books to Star Wars and Penguin Teen. They have a ton of signings and giveaways at their booth all weekend. Every day they’ll have a recommendation station offering you a choice of a few different book giveaways based on what you like to read.

One of the most interesting new releases this year looks like Fireborne by Rosaria Munda. It’s described as “Game of Thrones meets Red Rising in a debut young adult fantasy that’s full of rivalry, romance . . . and dragons.” The author will have a panel and signing on Thursday.

Take note of the individual booth numbers to find your way around their area. The way most Penguin booth signings work is they will start giving out tickets 10 minutes before the start of the signing and they are first-come, first-served. For the more popular authors, I’d recommend getting over to the booth earlier than that as a line usually forms to get tickets well before the 10 minutes. Certain signings (marked with **) give out their tickets first thing in the morning, the day of the signing. If you have any questions about the way their booth signings work just ask anyone there, their staff is usually very helpful and friendly.
