Ever since Stephen Amell fired that flaming Arrow back in 2011, Warner Bros, The CW and the production genius Greg Berlanti have taken some of DC’s most recognizable characters and brought them to an audience in ways no-one could have ever imagined. With renewals already confirmed for Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, it’s now a case of when, not if, a new superhero will join this epic group of heroes. Step forward Black Lightning.

During today’s panel at San Diego Comic Con, The CW released a brand new trailer showcasing the origins of these monumental characters, as well as give a sneak peek at what we might expect in Black Lightning’s opening Season.

This is probably one of my favorite trailers to be released in a very long time. The way in which it showcases not only the live action sequences but highlights the triumphs of the animated and comic book worlds as well is a testament to how enormous the DC universe actually is.
