New York Comic Con (NYCC) 2024 has come and gone, leaving fans with unforgettable memories, thrilling announcements, and immersive experiences. From October 17-20, the Javits Center transformed into a haven for pop culture enthusiasts, gathering fans, creators, and celebrities to celebrate the best in comics, film, television, gaming, and more. Here’s a look back at some highlights that made NYCC 2024 the ultimate destination for fans around the world.

A Star-Studded Lineup

This year’s NYCC delivered an incredible lineup of panels featuring stars from fan-favorite franchises. Among the notable guests were John Boyega, Elizabeth Olsen, Ella Purnell, Hayley Atwell, Josh Brolin, Paul Bettany, Andy Serkis, Orlando Bloom, and Walton Goggins, who participated in photo-ops and autograph sessions with their fans.

Thursday’s panels included Max’s highly anticipated The Penguin panel, where Colin Farrell and the cast shared an exclusive look at the dark journey of Gotham’s infamous mob boss. Fans were also treated to HBO’s Dune: The Prophecy and the latest updates on Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, adding to the excitement of upcoming releases.

The Red Dead Redemption cast reunited to reminisce about bringing the beloved game to life, and Nickelodeon celebrated SpongeBob SquarePants‘s 25th anniversary with appearances from the voice cast, commemorating the iconic show that shaped generations. Prime Video presented CROSSWhat We Do in the Shadows treated fans to fresh comedy, and The Walking Dead Universe panel drew applause with its teaser for the franchise’s expansion. Sony Pictures also held an exciting presentation on upcoming releases.

Saturday continued with beloved franchises on display, from The Simpsons celebrating another year in Springfield to the Star Trek Universe sharing teasers and special guests. Fans of anime flocked to the
Bleach panel, and Max introduced Creature Commandos as their latest animated venture, filled with supernatural thrills. The Godzilla vs NYCC: 70 Years of the King of the Monsters panel honored the massive legacy of cinema’s most iconic monster, taking fans on a journey through the kaiju’s cultural impact.

Interactive Fan Experiences and Exhibits

The convention floor was abuzz with thrilling, immersive experiences that gave fans unforgettable ways to engage with their favorite franchises. The Marvel and DC exhibits featured life-sized statues and interactive previews that left fans in awe. Universal Orlando Resort’s preview of Epic Universe gave attendees a sneak peek into future theme park magic.

Fans of Wynonna Earp were in for a treat with Audible’s Wynonna Earp Immersive Experience, a hauntingly interactive exhibit that brought the supernatural Western series to life. Attendees stepped into a world filled with memorable characters, giving them a taste of the audio adventure Audible has crafted for Earpers.

In honor of Venom: The Last Dance, fans tackled the Bucking Venom Horse Experience—a one-day pop-up that captured the intensity of Venom’s world. This experience featured photo-ops, interactive games, and unique activities, allowing fans to step into the chaotic energy of Eddie Brock’s alter-ego.

In celebration of Fandom’s 20th anniversary, the Fandom Party New York at the Hard Rock Hotel became a high point of NYCC’s nightlife. Complete with scavenger hunts, photo booths, and arcade games, the event united fans in a vibrant celebration of community and connection.

Artist Alley and Independent Creators

NYCC 2024 stayed true to its roots by showcasing the diverse talent of independent artists and creators through Artist Alley. The spotlight exhibitors transformed the convention floor into a treasure trove of fandom memorabilia, appealing to fans of comics, anime, gaming, and pop culture alike.
