RECAP: MomoCon 2018

MomoCon Atlanta took place over the Memorial Day Weekend (May 24-27) at the Georgia World Congress Center and once again was a blast! The geek culture convention welcomed over 35,400 unique attendees.

MomoCon operated continuously from Thursday at 2 PM until Sunday at 5 PM. The exciting change brought with it more need for volunteers to be a part of the late night two 4 hour blocks, from 12 AM – 8 AM. A 24-hour Con experience!

This year announced the return of the Construction Zone. The Construction Zone by Atlanta Brick Co of Newnan, GA featured about 1,000 pounds of LEGO® pieces!

Also, MomoCon 2018 welcomed many great casters out for MomoCon’s Smash Tournaments with @SmashStudiosGG and @RecursionGG and Falcon Round Robin with @2GGaming.

Panels & Press Rooms

MomoCon had a good celebrity lineup this year with Bex Taylor-Klaus (Voltron, Arrow, Scream, The Killing), Crispin Freeman (Overwatch, Young Justice), Kimberly Brooks (Voltron, Steven Universe), Richard Epcar (Mortal Kombat, Injustice: Gods Among Us), Carey Means (Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Welcome to the Wayne) and more! Hiromi Wakabayashi and Masahiko Otsuka from Studio TRIGGER joined MomoCon 2018. Studio TRIGGER has produced some amazing titles like KILL la KILL, Darling in the Franxx, and Little Witch Academia. Show Floor

There was an array of things to do on the convention show floor as well with rows and rows of vendors. And once again MomoCon welcomed back Tokyo Attack who brought excellent Japanese Arcades from Dance Dance Revolution to Initial D Arcade Stage 7 AAX. Attendees moved and grooved and got their arcade on!

After Party Events

MomoCon got the unique pleasure to hype up its audience with the Monster Mash Rave, which featured guest DJs Monstercat, И O T A K E R, Tokyo Machine, and DELTΔ HEΔVY, and straight from NHK in Japan: DJ Domo!
